Raid on Kantus Nui . chapter 1 .
long ago when the great beings were just beginning and not many creatures roamed the lend two brothers were created. one named Bard, who was a pacifistic, caring being that wanted nothing but peace in the land, however he had strong primal instincts within him. the other was Baron, a bloodthristy, violent nightmare that would kill to get his way, but he was plagued with a great intellectual mind, always searching for answers to that beyond his reach.
they worked well together working off of each others weakness's and strengthening their similarities. they had no idea what their purpose was in this world, they inhabited a small island called Sa-Nui. they spent their time trying to stay alive, through the hunting of food, or contemplating why they exist. one day Baron became intrigued by his own physiology it was unlike anything he had hunted, he questioned whether Bard had a similar pyshc=ical build, and tore him apart in a fit of uncontrollable rage and confusion.
when he came to his senses he looked at his brother, in shambles before him, nearly murdered by his hands. he realized his primal nature was a terror even he couldn't face. he ran off, not willing to face himself. Bard was left there, losing fli=uyids by the gallons, on the brink of death, when the great beings arrived. from afar Baron watched as they tended to his wounds, healing him by their own willpower. he was amazed, the damage he had inflicted was all but gone in seconds. the great beings told Bard that he had done a valiant thing, for he had not hurt Baron in the slightest, and they gave him a position as a Toa and transferred him to Metru-Nui.
Baron later approached one of the great beings and kidnapped her. He brutally interrogated her until he knew the secrets of the great beings, and then, knowing that he would be hunted down if he was discovered, killed her. he left for an island inhabited by a Kratta like species and began experimenting with his new found abilities. he allied himself with the Makuta at one point, saying that he was one so that he wouldn't be discovered as a great being experiment and studied like a lab rat.
eventually this relationship was broken when Baron failed to transfer his soul into a new body to appease Teridax. as a result he lost his arm and was cast out of the brotherhood. Meanwhile Bard was greatly renowned among the Toa and the Order of Mata-Nui. he finally came to terms with what his brother was and was fully prepared to face him again. he compiled a team of his favorite Toa and is to set out for Kantus-Nui.
