m4a1 . A shooting m4a1. 11 round mag. 4 different sights. Its pretty cool. . my latest gun: the m4a1! This gun uses Jack Streats HK 416 mech(NOT CQB!!!, check out my HK 416, for more details on this concept). It was slightly inspired by P.K.'s m4, so Ill give a bit of credit, But all his helped for my gun is the trigger gaurd, and the fire selector idea. But its a great gun, go check it out. Now onto my gun!
A history lesson. (skip this part if you don't care. I would too.)
It all Stared way back in World War 2, 1944 the year D-day took place. This day was the turning point for allied forces during the war. This was also the year The germans deployed the Sturmgewehr 44. For those of you who dont know, this gun, is the gun that forever changed war. The first Assault rifle. Three years later the AK-47 is finished. MAny years later, the more modern company, Armalite, made the AR-15. Colt liked it so much they bought the rights off Armalite (I think), and then made the m16, first deployed in Vietnam, 1963. Even Later a carbinated (carbine) version was made, the m4. And then came the m4a1. Hope you liked and learned something new. Now onto really onto the gun!
Heres the magazine.
Other side of it.
The receiver, oyu can see the grip, guard, release, foward assist, stock, charging handle, carrying handle and the rear iron sight.
FPS, left side.
Iron sights. I couldn't really get a good looking front iron sight, so this is it.
Adjusting stock, mech credit to Jack Streat.1st position.
Carrying handle and rear iron sight.
A standard set up. Carrying handle, on the rear iron sight.
Without the carrying handdle. Yes they are seperatable, like the real one!
Heres the gun with an eotech sight, nothing fancy just a blue window peice.
A look down eotech, It lines up with the iron sights just like the real one.
Heres a strange optic, it might be an acog or something, but ill just call it an optic.
A look down the optic. It took forever to get the holes in the optic perfectly aligned with the iron sights! The 1x1 hole brick covers up the fore sight when perfectly alighned, so thats why they are gone.
The fore sight. This as close as I could get to the real one. I didn't add bushings to the top 3m axel, because it makes a slight raise to the middle, like the midle of the iron sight. kind of. not really.
A look down the foresight.
Heres where the origanal m4a1 ends, I wasnt able to get on the computer for weeks after its completion. Instead of starting a new gun, I started making more accessories for this one.
The foward assist, It was a complete after though, added five five minutes before picture taking.
Its attatched by studs going into the holed bricks that make up the side of the gun.
heres the verticle fore grip. (yes theres more, I went all the way with this gun!)
FPS with the fore grip.
A look at how the carrying handle is removed from the rear sight.
Heres the grip area, you can the P.K. inspired guard and fire selector.
The complete m4a1 kit!
Mechinism. I know you might have seen this in the 416, but its standard proceder now)
After cocking. You can see the loaded round.
The chamber, great for understanding the trigger mech without instructions.
going up the ramp.
After coking, ready to fire. i forgot the trigger pulled picture, sorry!
how the release works, in my opinio the hardest part of the gun.
That outside bit.
Released, you can kind of see where the rb is attatched(the hard part).
Inside the stock. ALL mech credit to Jack Streat. I made the mounting to the actual gun.
The stoper thing.
retracted and free to slide.
Overkill Optics!(this just ruined the serousness of the whole page!)
The epic iron sights. Shockingly accurate, too.
An epic Picture.
One last look at the rifle.
Thats all. Pretty good exercise for you mouse hand, right? Upcoming guns may inlude the m16, scar, g36, and potetially an ak-47(closed bolt!).
The build instructions arent done. yet. Burt ive decided to make them for both the m4 and 416, because they are almost identical.
Thanks for looking, and please comment!
