The Frankton Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer fire department established in 1951, located in Central Indiana just northwest of Anderson. The department is made up of 26 members and protects an area of 72 square miles with a population of about 9,225. Our coverage area includes all of the Town of Frankton, Lafayette Township and the northern half of Jackson Township in Madison County, including the incorporated
areas of Linwood and Perkinsville. This area includes four State Highways: State Roads 9, 37, 128 and 13. The department averages 200 runs a year, with its numbers increasing every year.
About Engine 31....
1995 Ford E-One Pumper, 1250 GPM pump with 1000-gallon tank. Engine 31 carries four MSA SCBA, four spare air bottles, three 1 3/4-inch attack lines, one 1 3/4-inch smooth-bore attack line, one 2 1/2-inch master stream attack line, 1000 feet of five-inch supply line and a fixed or portable monitor/deck gun. Also carries basic firefighting equipment, first-response medical equipment, Automated External Defibrillator, ResQTec extrication tools, Bullard thermal-imaging camera, PPV fan, MSA CO detector and MSA multi-gas detector. Engine 31 responds first-out on all fire and rescue calls from Station 2.
