1971 Plymouth Satelite Custom . No previews, no teasers, this time it's legit. It had to be eventually, right? =P I think I need a new folder titled "Omega Jumbo Scale Cars"...this is ridiculous. .
This thing took forever! Okay, not forever... 4-5 months(ish). Maybe it'd have been 3 months if I hadn't run out of white bricks. Who knows... who cares!?! It's finally done! Kind of. It's still got 2 'small' gaps in the interior. So what if they're as big as some people's entire MOC, they're miniscule at this scale! =D Anyway, I'll stop ranting in this caption, and continue in the next... =P
Shiny silver headlights
Dat quirky side view
Better side view, notice the small spoiler, flames, and giant intake. Aw Yeah!!
The back view of dignity!
"LAD", My actually nickname happens to be "The Lad", and at this scale I figured this would be a nice detail to add. And fun fact, the license plate is 4x8 studs, the average size of a 4-wide car. =P
Arsty shot, with chrome exhausts
Bird's eye view.
Seemingly nothing,... but wait!?
It's a sunroof! or moonroof if you use it at night.
Last minute antenna, at least it's in the proper spot.
Door handle locked
Door handle open!
Everything open! The trunk is sprung, the doors don't need to fight gravity, and the hood has a fold out stick-thingy. Yeah, that's totally the name for it.
Dat trunk with a wonderful (IMO) snake mosaic. Of course, it's just an effort to conserve white bricks.
A full size chincilla could probably nest in here. Mission accomlished!
A big BLOCK V8! Get it? Block? Cuz Lego's are blocks? Okay, I'll stop.
One of the cylinders and the place where a header should be. Really works, too!
Front suspension, and steering stuffs. Ironically enough, those 2 springs covers the whole front, whereas the back has like 8 and it's barely bouncy. Enough to shake the doors loose, yes, but still not bouncy enough for me.
Random windshield wiper view. Of course it has 2.
The door can see into your mind, the door can see into your SOUL! "Really?" No, jk.
Full pedals, which are all sprung to be pushed
See? Super playability! Functions eberywhere!
Reclining, sliding, snake mosaic seats. Comfy!
I told you so. =P
4speed + N gear box. Okay, I'll admit it. In real life the gears would be backwards. Going from N-4-3-2-1 might not work for a real engine. However, it works wonders when the power is reversed from Engine-to-wheels, to wheels-to-engine! Also, the parking brake barely holds. I have a solution, but no way to get to the chassis.
My favorite function of all (besides that it rolls), the glovebox! =D Open, close, open, close, open, close, open, close.... sorry.
Really steers! Of course it takes like 20 revo's of the wheel to turn the front wheels. Very heavy car indeed.
Keyhole, windshield toggle, and light toggle details.
Random view, now I needed to get really creative. Normally I can get the "money shot" just by propping the car on it's side. But these sidewalls can't take 7 lbs. of Plymouth!
This should totally work!!! =D Aren't I insane dedicated?
At this point, since I had one hand holding the whole 7 lb. car up and another hand trying to blindly get a nice view, here's a montage of what I got.
The dif. bits and exhaust pipe...
And there's the 4+N linear tranny. I now dispise linear trannies.... need... more efficiency!!! =P
And for your convienience, here's a poorly spelt list of functions:
Independant, double wishbone suspension
Front steering from steering wheel
Working manual 4 speed + neutral transmission
Working V8 with moving cylinders and timing belt
Opening hood, doors, trunk, sunroof
Adjustable front seats
Working door handles
Come to think of it, I could have added a gas cap.... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!... Maybe someday...
Thanks for viewing!
