Why?
Amazing Race Clue Card . Built late 2011 in preparation for LEGOLAND California's Junior Master Model Builder Competition. . Fourth Wall Commentary: The Junior Master Model Builder Competition was a monthly contest held at LEGOLAND California (the last contest was in January). There were three winners every month; one from each age group (9-, 10-15, and 16+). The winners would then be invited to an Ultimate Build Off, where they would compete against each other for a pretty cool prize. The theme for the 2012 Ulitimate Build-off was "Around the World." The first that came to mind was the CBS TV show The Amazing Race. So I decided to build an Amazing Race clue card with a hand holding it "giving it" to the viewer. Unfortunately I wasn't able to build a hand with my piece selection. But I was able to build everything at the build-off (everyone was given access to a fair variety of pieces and were given 1 hour to build). Although I couldn't find all of the bricks I needed, I still won in my age group. I was also fortunate enough to be a winner alongside Matt "Monsterbrick" Armstrong who won in the 16+ category by building a flat world with the Santa Maria, Nina, and Pinta sailing across the perilous sea!
