Why?
Action Master Prowl and Bluestreak (LDD) . non transforming autobot prowl . this started out as a generic "police robot" and sort of wound up looking vaguely Prowl like so I gave him the classic G1 colours. Doesn't even pretend to transform. at the very end of the original transformers line (which ran from 1984 through to 1990) Hasbro did the unthinkable, a range of non-transforming action figures. Most were based on the cartoon versions of the more popular characters, each came with either a transforming mini companion, or transforming equipment. Because the figures didn't actually transform it seemed appropriate.Action Master I've added pictures of Prowl's G1 counterpart Blue Streak (sometimes referred to as Silver streak) because basically they were repaints of the same figure. Changes I'd like to make.... Well obviously I'd much prefer if the design could transform. I'm not a big fan of non-transforming legoformers or legoformers that need to cheat to form either mode. This figure was more about articulation, creating something that could hold a variety of poses, next step is to work on transformation tech. However... Since this is inspired by the non-transforming Action Master, perhaps some changes to make it more like the Action Master version might be in order. Amongst them would be the converting cycle and shield combination the original figure came with. Failing that it might be possible to make the design look a little more like the original G1 character by adding his trade mark shoulder rockets. at the moment any attempts to do this have proved difficult to engineer due to the placing of the wings. (which incidentally the Action Master toy didn't have). Another possible change is to create one of the alternate colour schemes the two figures have had over the years. The original Diaclone figure had an alternate colour scheme different to both these, and I'm fairly sure the figure was also included in the "day glow" Generation 2 era (but don't quote me on that as my research hasn't turned anything up yet). Finally I'd like to use this figure as the basis for creating some more Autobot car transformer characters. Obviously Jazz would lend himself to the basic frame with only a new head and colour scheme. With some major remodelling the figure might also make a decent Sideswipe, Sun Streaker, Wheeljack or Tracks. Spoiler warning.... My next character is also a non-transforming G1 homage, he's already completed but I'm still tweeking the design before I upload any pictures. And the name of this mystery autobot..... Omega Supreme!! Note he isn't to scale with Prowl so don't expect anything huge.
