Category: 6. The Supers are Back!
Design and build a MOC based on Superheroes. Use Lego’s superhero figs or design your own, but build a scene of superheroes (or super villains) in action.
"Batman is on his way to rescue Robin, who has been captured by Poison Ivy but can he rescue him from her grip?"
I'll start with an overview.
Then move to a shot in front of the bank.
This is probably my favorite part of the MOC.
The detailed inside of the bank.
Here we have a Piranha plant.
Now let's concentrate on the individual parts of the MOC starting with the bank.
Here's a straight on shot of the bank, I'm quite happy with this.
Now for my favorite part of the MOC, the crashed car. This was one of those things that I was thinking about and decided to just go for, and wow am I happy with it. Flat tires, crunched hood, dented bumper, and a broken windshield.
Another shot of the car.
The Venus Flytrap was one of the first things I built for this MOC, I'm also quite happy with it.
Some tentacles have forced their way up through the street and have made a nice crack there.
Robin has been captured by some vines that Poision Ivy is controlling.
A shot of Poison Ivy on her vine.
The Piranha Plant, inspired by Powerpig.
These vines are "crawling" up the side of the building.
The teller is staring out the window and it looks like someones transaction has been interrupted.
This man is just staring at the destruction outside.
Another shot inside the bank, it's a really small space here.
This guy's hair is standing on end!
This guy doesn't seem to be to happy.
And I'll leave you with a shot of Batman.
Wow, I can't believe I finished this. This was one of those MOCs that was always getting improved and changed. Yeah I did spend two weeks building this one but it was on and off all month. I'm really happy I'm done with this one so I can move on to my next entry. This is a MOC I would love to display somewhere but I think it'll have to be taken apart before I can even move on.
Built March 2012
Now let's move onto the WIP shots shall we?
Here's what I started with, just a small bank and an idea on how I wanted it to look. Everything here is quite rough.
Then I added a road and some sidewalk as well as started planning where things should go.
This one shows it about a day later, when I had a better idea on how I wanted it to look.
And then this is last night, I was strengthening the base supports and adding all of the final details.
