Balance of the Force Chapter 10: Crossroads . Immediately following the events of Ch. 9. After revealing the events of his past to the Jedi Master Ban-Kazi is confronted by a figure from his past- his old master Lord Tiberius Kasamir and his cohort of Dark Jedi.... . Ban-But, you're dead! I saw it with my own eyes! Kasamir-Think Ban, what did you really see? My helmet atop some burning wreckage is hardly proof of my death. And now I stand here in the living flesh before you! Ban-Why have you come back? Why seek me out? Kasamir-Because Ban, I came to make you an offer: Come join the ranks of the Dark Side and you will rule over this galaxy at my right hand! Ban-Rule? You betrayed me! You left me for dead on Korriban! And now you come to me with visions of ruling the galaxy? Kasamir-Just listen Ban. Hazar! (As Ban stands speechless Hazar takes out a glowing force crystal, the same he stole from Master Juon Sai) Ban-Impossible! Kasamir-No, Ban, it is. The final piece of the puzzle. With this force crystal, coupled with the helmet and armor will bring Darth Vulnero back from the dead! Ban-But...Darth Vulnero... (Before he can react Karlo rushed forward) Alinta-Karlo! Karlo-You killed my master! (Hazar easily sidesteps the vicious attack) Hazar-You have spirit boy. Your anger makes you powerful. Unfortunately I promised that I would kill you. And I never break a promise! (Hazar begins to choke Karlo) Kasamir-The choice is yours Ban, join us or die with the Jedi. (To Janax) Kill the Jedi. Janax-With pleasure. Gulio-Come on we've got to... Janax-Save the padawan? I'd worry more about my own safety if I was you! Jalka'Ri kill them! (Hazar drops a gasping Karlo to the ground) Hazar-Prepare to join your master padawan, in death! (Suddenly Ban activates his blades and stops Hazar) Ban-I've made my choice Kasamir. I will never become a slave to you again! Kasamir-So be it. (Kasamir unleashes a vicious force attack on Ban, draining his life away) Kasamir-See what you could have been Ban! You could have all this power! But now you will have nothing! (Karlo jumps in and redirects the orange flames) Kasamir-What trickery is this? (Kasamir breaks off and Karlo sends the energy flying harmlessly away) Hazar-I'll deal with you! (Hazar lunges forward at a dazed Karlo and cuts off his hand) Karlo-Arrrrgghhhhhh! Alinta-No! (Alinta breaks off from her fight and launches a force blast at Kasamir and Hazar) (The Dark Jedi regroup on the bridge) Kasamir-This battle means nothing Jedi! When you see me next it will be standing on the ruins of your precious Temple and the Republic will be destroyed! (With that they run off) Alinta-Karlo...I'm so sorry...I... Karlo-Don't be besides I...I owed Maste Kazi one for saving me back on New Cov. Gulio-Karlo, I don't know how or what you did, but when you did it, the Jalka'Ri...just disappeared... Ban-I've seen this only once before. Kasamir was draining my life force to create more of his Jalka'Ri, Karlo here redirected the blast and...well saved us...thanks boy. Karlo-It was my pleasure Master. It was an old trick Master Juon showed me, I've never used it until now. Ban-Come on, let's get you on a medical ship. With any luck we'll be able to get you a new hand within the hour. Karlo-What about Kasamir? Ban-All we can do now is wait and try to find a way to stop him....
