Why?
Phippy Christine . . I made this ship with the vision that it should be able to build this out of a relative "normal" lego collection, meaning there's no need for additional parts, bricklink, etc. I also wanted to keep it cheap (using cheap parts). Now as for the name... This cheap ship is in no way related to any known mocpages individual... or is it ? Finding a fitting name for a ship has become a real art nowadays ;) The Phippy Christine is a merchant barquentine, this type of ship is known to perform great both with and against the wind. ( A barquentine has 3 masts of which only the foremast is square rigged ) I wanted to enter this ship in the Jolly Rodger Contest but ultimately decided not to. The ship as it is now only has three cannon ports per side but there's easely room for seven. Point is, it wanted it to be less heavely armed than a pirate ship which had to be smaller :S I also brought this ship to Brickmania the 21st of April: So let's see, there's still one ship left to post and now that the JRC deadline has extended I might just make two more ;) Chris Phipson, I don't think you're cheap, not at all ;) Some pictures of my JRCIII entry:
