Volvo 780 . Nobody expects a Volvo, right? They're far too.... boxy. .
I believe it was Ape Fight who long ago told me that he preferred a boring car done well to a supercar done a million times. Over the years I've come to agree with that sentiment...
*Beep beep*
Artsy shot, to highlight the artsy-ness of it all.
This could end up being an important view, I mean, there were certain race cars that had to maintain the engine block and silhouette of their production counterparts. Hint hint hint hint hint hint hint hint hint
hint. I mean, erm... rear view.
I'm not pleased with the underside of the rear bumper, I ran out of tiles and they really would've improved that bit.
Working bits! Here's the diff.
Steering
Independent suspension. The shock towers gave me quite the hard time, since this is 15-wide and the original Lego brand tower design was for an even stud width.
Opening goodies.
Working V-6, which doesn't make the pinging sounds with such gusto as the Datsun did. I'll have to tune it or something.
And the trunk, which comes with some free air.
Yeah, um... that how far the door opens.
The maroon interior makes a comeback!
Notice how I completely forgot the center console...I don't know what to say about that, really. I mean, literally I just realized this now. Uh... uh. Yeah, um seems to sum it up. "Uh", then. So much for a boring car done nicely, me, how are these folks going to shift!!?!?!?!?!?
I also ran out of white, so heres the "I have to park on the street in the city" side.
I still can't believe I forgot the console.... this deeply perturbs me. At least I'll have something to do this afternoon.
Overall I still like it. It's Volvo-refic!
Chris Melby doesn't like Volvos, though. So here's the pic he asked for whipped up in about 6-7 minutes. =)
Thanks for viewing!
