Dee-Derp (A Table-scrap Doodle) . . So this is a bit of a different build from what Iím used to doing. This is just to pass the time while the Orion remains intact, (as long as that beast exists, I canít build anything even remotely substantial). Although this was a throw-together, I really like the result.
The objective of this build was to find an odd use for the Death Star that comes out of set 9676. It doesnít have many uses, but it can be used for a silly-looking robot head. I like how this one turned out because with the overlarge head, it almost looks like a robotic caricature. I named him Dee-Derp because I picture him wandering aimlessly through the corridors of a space cruiser repeating in his robotic voice, ďDerp, Dee-Derp, Dee-Derp.Ē I get a chuckle just thinking about it.
Let's have a look.
I wasn't able to include as much detail as I usually do on my MOCs, but I still had to do a little bit. Here is a look at the rear end, where you can find his main control board.
The back of his head. I think the metallic mohawk really adds to the humor of the MOC.
A couple looks at his claws.
The head. Can't you almost hear it? "Derp, Dee-Derp, Dee-Derp." This was the most frustrating part of the build. I don't know if you've seen this Death Star piece, but there is only enough connection on the inside for a 2X2 brick. Any jostling at all and the two halves separate. I almost canned the whole project when this happened for about the fiftieth time.
I included this shot because it looks like the idiot is practicing Kung-Fu. Ah, the chuckles.
A look at the front end. Although you can't see it, there is a small wheel tucked in behind the black sloped parts, so it does roll pretty smoothly.
Thanks for having a look. Let me know what you think.
