Why?
Sick Bay . . Our lifesupport masks won't last much longer, that's why we need the bio bronchial-purge tank. The scroungers managed to find one, now I just need to fix it up. Once it's working and clearing up our lungs and blood flow we might last up to five weeks, enough time to prepare the ship. (Yet another MOC for The Final Countdown. As great as medium-large dioramas are, sometimes it's fun just to whip up some smaller stuff, and the size limits imposed by these challenges keep me from going overboard.) The dialysis machine. I tried to keep it as accurate as possible while still staying at minifig scale. Overhead view. Trying to fit four beds, a surgical table, and two machines on a 16x16 base was brutal; I have a lot more respect for vignette builders now. An intensive care bed with special radiation emitters to promote healing. Various tools and such on the wall. (The alien conquest gun isn't actually a gun in this case; I'm using it as a scanner.) The bio bronchial-purge tank. It uses an electric current to clear blood/air ways, and administer a substance to combat toxins. Another view. Under the surgical table there's a compartment that stores some tools. A portable sink/cupboard. Notice the wheels on the bottom, I rather like how that turned out. The cupboard opens to reveal even more tools. This MARDET marine was burned by an electrical blowout. He's held to the surgical table by powerful restraints so he doesn't spasm during surgery. (Another detail I like.) Doctor Jared Trowel is our only hope if we wish to survive Neugarten long enough to escape. Thanks for your time!
