Miller Park Version 6 . Miller Park Version 6: Completely Enclosed . Lego Miller Park Version 6 I was very happy with Version 5, but there were still a couple things I wanted to change and didn’t have the time to plan. I started upgrading Version 6 on June 12, 2007 to finally address them. The focus was a complete roof redesign. The roof for all four previous versions had large vertical gaps between the panels especially towards the outfield because the panel peaks weren’t lined up. There was also a large horizontal gap between the top panel and the other left field panels that got my attention when the roof was open. The new roof fixed both of these problems and lined up the vertical box chord arch supports as well. More time was also taken to determine how to motorize the outfield panels on the exterior outfield wall of the stadium. This wasn’t easy because the panels curve as they open, but I finally accomplished another milestone. Unfortunately the wires I installed for the vertical panels in Version 5 weren't where I needed them so I had to remove most of the left field side to move them. I took this time to make another major upgrade to the model’s electronic controls. The main addition was a powered Mindstorm so I could reduce my battery investments and keep the roof running smoothly. I also separated the Lego® lighting system into two parts and connected them to another powered Mindstorm for realistic lighting effects and increased lighting brightness. The new features in Version 6 were: Completely redesigned roof New top rail for motorized outfield vertical panels Redesigned and smaller roof track (Less overhanging field) Redesigned roof hinge to conceal wiring Added two powered Mindstorms Rewired stadium lighting Added “Picnic Area” and “LED Displays” under Terrace Level as added before the 2006 Season Added Friday signs on left field exterior When I was installing the finishing touches for this version in late July 2007, I tripped and required knee surgery. This created a major completion delay like the Big Blue accident. My delay was due to the discovery of MLCad and the resulting design changes as described in the current Version 7 page. PLEASE NOTE: I didn’t take many pictures of Version 6 because I figured Version 7 would only be small changes and I could take them afterward. The main picture is Version 5 right before I started Version 6 renovations. Enjoy looking and feel free to e-mail me at TJKaebisch@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments. If you like my project, please take time to rate it or write a review.
