Planetary quarantine forces Blacktron embassy to close its doors . Breaking news: a violent revolution on planet Blah-Blah has led to the Blacktron embassy closing its doors as the last of its citizens residing on the planet have made their way to its protected perimeter. .
Can you believe it? How long has it been? A couple of years, I think. What have I been doing during my absence? As you can see from the overview shot above, not much in terms of Lego. Truthfully though, studying advanced physics and chemistry can take its toll on you as far as making MOCs goes
In case you're wondering about how I did the logo, put simply, it was a lot of patience and a lot of cheese slopes.
"The chaos outside the embassy's temporary quarantine gates is clearly visible, as the streets are filled with abandoned and flaming vehicles, their passengers trying to escape the violence enveloping the urban centers."
"However, any attempts to enter the Blacktron embassy without a passport have been forcefully turned away."
So, if you're wondering how this came into fruition, I had a thought about making the Blacktron logo as some sort of elegant centerpiece for a diorama. Eventually an embassy sprang to mind. The gray building with the black flags (no such thing as a flag with the Blacktron logo printed on it) is the embassy. I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out.
"With the intent of surviving through this revolutionary maelstrom which has already severed all communications to the outside star system, the embassy has brought out its few military units, such as the artillery pieces seen here."
The building to the side of the embassy is... I'm not too sure. How about the black, foreboding looking one is military intelligence? Yeah, let's go with that.
I'm actually fairly happy with this building, although the roof is dull, to say the least.
And finally, in case you're curious about the back of this thing, yes, a lot of it is just a facade. That said, I'm pretty satisfied with how I solved the problem of the gaps between the chunks that make up the embassy building (solution was to use cylinders).
