USS Midway CV-41 (1991) . This is the US Aircraft Carrier USS Midway CV-41. Also known as "USS Rock n Roll" and "USS Neverdock". . Here we have my lastest build ship, the Midway. The Midway was build at the end of WW2 but doesnt join any combats. The Midway was refited 2 times. First in 1957 and second in 1975. The Midway was decommissioned in 1992. The moc shows her (as far as i could manage) as she looks in 1991. My Midway featured a full hangar deck and a small removeable part of the deck to reach the hangar. I included an improved version of the moveable elevators as I already introduced at my Nimitz-carrier. They are now more stable. At first i will have a short introduction to the airwing: Even if the ship itself is the version from 1991, the airwing is more a mixture of different time periods, colored in the white-grey like used in the 1970s. With this airwing there come 2 new planes: Vought A-7 Corsair II and the Douglas A-3 Skywarrior. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Now some pictures of the profile. They show the unique shape that make this ship to a strange-beauty and sametime one of the most ugly ones. The building of the deck shape was really challenging and very interresting. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. The improved elevator. 14. Finally a carrier comparrison with the USS Nimitz. At least when finished the moc, I noticed that even in my moc you can see the origin of this carrier build-style in the era of WW2 and I could easyly rebuild it as she was original. :) Today the USS Midway is a museum ship - moored in San Diego CA and can be visited. Website of the USS Midway-museum Please rate and comment if u like this one. Update September 1st: Im stupid, i forgot the Skywarrior-picture. :/ Now its uploaded.
