Why?
Grizzly River Run . Shoot the rapids at Grizzly Peak Recreation Area! . Winner of the ABS Forever Landscape Contest Another addition to my Disney theme park collection. This time, some forced perspective at the Grizzly River Run in Disney's California Adventure Park. I remember watching my old Disney VHS movies back around 2001 and seeing a preview for a new Disney park to be located right across from Disneyland. The commercial featured a majestic mountain range with a huge "bear-shaped" rock formation in the middle. I vividly recall ooooooooing and ahhhhhhhing at the bear rock, especially when the whole CGI mountain moved and gave out a ferocious roar! When I visited the park after its opening, I soon discovered that the real mountain didn't move and you could only hear some echoing roars inside its many caverns. But I was not disappointed! The Grizzly River Run attraction, as it is called, proved to be one of my longtime DCA favorites. The thrill of the whitewater rafting combined with the rich scenery of the great California outdoors and National Parks really appealed to me. This ride is always a fun delight on a warm, sunny day. It's cold and cloudy, you say? Just pack a poncho ;) Grizzly Peak summit One of the many friendly Cast Members helping park guests aboard their raft. Everyone have their FASTPASS? Hope you enjoyed the tour of the Grizzly Peak Recreation Area. This project was mostly a practice at attempting forced perspective, but it was also a tribute to one of my favorite Disney's California Adventure attractions. ~Have a Zip-a-dee-doo-dah day!~
