The Adventures of Buckaroo Mater Across the Brick Dimension . . Tow Mater was bored. Nothing was going to brighten up his day in Radiator Springs, not even chasing those tractor cows. He then remembered a TV show that said solid objects were really 99.99% free space (or something like that) and that if you could part the atoms in a Moses crossing the Red Sea kind of way, you could pass though the side of a mountain. Mater looked at the vista. The Cadillac Range was in the distance. "They're the biggest mountains around these parts" he thought and he hatched a plan. What you see below is the result of a trip to Sarge's army surplus store and an afternoon of tinkering round at Doc Hudson's lab. Fortunately, Sarge had aquired an Oscillation Overthruster from an Area 51 boot sale, just what was needed to disrupt the atomic structure of stuff, so Mater bolted it to the top of his cab and replaced the tow frame with something more 'bespoke'. Doc reckons Mater wll need the length of Ornament Valley to get to speed (a rumoured 88mph) and sight the laser on the overthurster to travel into the Brick Dimension and through the mountains. The inspiration for this MOC is the vastly under rated film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension. Several references to it's greatness appear in later films and TV programmes. If you've never seen it, watch it!
