MO:R3 Thoy Bradley vs Adam L "The Proposal" . My entry for Round 3 of the MOC Olympics. Category: Black and White . Link to MOCOlympics homepage here. Link to Adam L's homepage here. Category: Black and White: Build a scene using black, white and shades of grey (No, not all 50 of them) to give us an "old movie" feel. Seriously, no "colors" in this one. Feel free to use old movies and TV shows as inspiration (and copy if you'd like) but the idea here is to have the picture LOOK LIKE it was taken in black and white. In my honest opinion this has been quite a cool category to build in. I'm not sure how I managed to land a category that allowed me to use 75% of my normal MOCing bricks - but I did! I am up against Adam L, while he only has a handful of MOCs uploaded, it is very clear that Adam knows exactly what he is doing. I want to encourage you all to take a look at His builds by following the link to his homepage :) The idea for this build came to me about half a second after I read my category (I'm not exaggerating either), I knew which elements I wanted to include and the composition with which they would make up the scene. I had a scrimmage through my Minifig draw and managed to find enough pieces to create two greyscale minifigs :) Half way through building the greyscale didn't really have too much affect on the visual appeal of this build, but as it came closer to being finished the effect grew - until now, where I think the scene looks like it came strait out of a black and white TV. The Proposal, a time when momentarily, everyone else fades into the background, there is just you, the person in front of you, and your surroundings. God Bless Everyone and I hope you enjoy this build. I have tried to include photos showing the insane SNOT-work used to create both the building name and the painted lines on the road. The car is the first minifig scale vehicle I have built in about 15 years. :)
