Why?
8081 Extended . I am really a fan of this model 8081. you can use it for all kind of adaptations. Today I had time to finish the extended version for 4 doors. . I am really fan of this model. You can use it for all kind of adaptations. This time I had time to realize the 4 doors version. This idea I had already for months. Due to limited amount of pieces I choose red doors. Besides that I extended the red striping from the hood on the top and the back part of the car. What I did was an increase of 4 studs of the original wheel base. Besides that I added a B-bar. These extra 4-studs made it possible to add a back seat and 2 extra doors. Due to the extension of the wheel base the back part was not in line any more with the rest of the car. So I extended the back part with only 2 studs. This restored the balance again of the model. During the change of the original 8081 model I started at the front and worked my way to the back. After extending the trunk I realized that I liked the 4-doors pickup model already. So I added two panels at the side to cover the part between the bumper and the rear wheel, which finished the balance of the car finally. The chassis of the original 8081 consists of 4 red beams of 15-studs. I used for the new base 2 of the above chassis beams to replace the four 15-studs beams. Just finished the touring version as well.
