Crane In Space . Built for the two Davids' Classic Space Pocket Money Contest - the best idea for a contest since someone invented the MOC Olympics.. . Designed to be bought with pocket money in around 1979, I present to you my entry: it's a crane... but in space! Emphasis here is on playability, so there's lots of moving parts; the vehicle is articulated, the crane part rotates, the boom lifts and extends, and you can raise and lower the hook via the gears at the back. Hours of fun... 'If you don't put me down I'll, I'll.... stop smiling possibly ?' Made with 99 pieces, just within the contest limit. I realize I'm sailing close to the wind here, but I've been careful. A complete fig counts as one piece (a David said so..), the grey hinge separates into two so that's how it's counted, although the string and hook are attached here they are two separate pieces. Most of what you see here was available in 1979. The B models - a little tow truck and a car for it to tow. Thanks for the lift buddy! A few leftover pieces from building these two vehicles... But this set isn't just good for vehicles, oh no... those chunky tyres make great engines for this over-powered speedster thingy. With enough pieces left over to make a stand to display it and another little car. It's a, er... mineral detector - yes, that's it. Classic space - so much to do, peacefully. I love it.
