1953 Alfa Romeo 900 Bartoletti race car transporter . Model of the transporter used by the Alfa Romeo racing team to transport their beautiful racing cars. The truck is a 'technic supercar' and it'll fit about 7 cars. . After 6 months of work I can now present to you with pride: a fully functional model of the Alfa Romeo transporter, build for the well known Classic Race teams group. I have already trapped Senator Chinchilla into building one of those beautiful Alfa Romeo's, but that leaves 6 places left in the Alfa Romeo team, so I'm still looking for more people to build some cars to fill up those empty spaces. Specifications: - 130 studs long - 20 studs wide - 31 studs high - 3,6 kg. - suspension - engine - gearbox - steering (on the truck and the trailer) - opening doors - lowering ramp - tiltable cabin But apart from the technical stuff, the truck drives very smooth and steers easy, making this a very playable creation. Even more then my previous transporter. The model features hand-of-god steering, but the gearbox is operated from inside the cabin. The transporter has suspension on all wheels. Double wishbone on the front wheels of the truck and solid axle on the rear wheels with differential. The trailer has live axle suspension on the front wheels and double wishbone on the rear. All together, the truck uses 14 6.5 long shock absorbers. The transporters cabin was made by Alfa Romeo and the bodywork by Bartoletti. Bartoletti also added that Mille grill. The grill from the Lego model was quite fun to design and looks cool too. There’s a lot of SNOT in there, but not all visible from outside. The cabin was enlarged during the building process, so it now has 2 rows of seats and is more spacious. The roof was a real pain to make, but afterwards it looks very nice to me. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everybody! ~Thomas~
