MO Round 7: Heath Flor Vs. Tom Remy . My final entry into the MOC Olympics. . The category is --
Tom Remy vs Heath Flor in:
Build us a battle between two mages of the mystic arts. Be sure to include their magical "effects" as they throw spells with wanton abandon. The inspiration for this category came while watching Loony Tunes and I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNvI4tEtzBQ&feature=related Please use ONLY the "wizard world" stuff as your inspiration... We don't need a moc of Daffy Duck blowing up a hotdog in a microwave.

The Wizard's Duel
Sometimes a Wizard's biggest challenge, is against a machine!
Just like in the last round, I had to do some research into Tom's behaviors to fully understand what I was going up against. I put all of my Daft Punk CD's on heavy rotation, and once the Rave ended, and the glow sticks faded, I was left with this a week later.
Frustrated, I decided I would not back down! No!!! I would NOT watch Jerry Lewis! He is NOT funny!!! I would NOT eat snails to find out how the other side lived! Instead I put on a more American movie...TRON: Legacy!! And then I listened to the soundtrack to wrap up the pinball table. Whoever did the soundtrack is a good bunch of blokes though, eh? Don't recall who they are.....but man, they're very electronic!
Unfortunately MOCpages, and my internet provider Cableone killed my entry. After trying for nearly 2 hours to upload a video of the pinball machine working, and another hour of fighting MOCpages, the build was uploaded nearly 5 minutes too late. Obviously this means Tom won by default. After nearly two weeks of working on this, and trying to do so during the holiday season, I am thoroughly disgusted with the way it ended.
And on that note, I'm off to do something more worthwhile of my time.
After we were told the category, I thought long and hard on it that first night. I giggled a bit to myself because my kids and I have been playing a lot of pinball on the PS3 lately. My daughter Kairi wants to become a "Pinball Wizard", and has asked me to be her master and train her. LOL It's very cute, and we're talking about buying a real machine in the future, because she wants to save Pinball!
I went out to do some Christmas shopping the next morning. Making a pinball machine was just too crazy, and I knew Tom would do a pretty elaborate build full of cool spells and such. But I spotted this sign at my first stop, and felt it was trying to tell me something.....GO CRAZY!!!! So I did....and I picked up the sign for my daughter and I to enjoy. ;)
As you can see the machine does work! If you watch closely, you'll notice the kids don't actually know how to play a real pinball machine! I'm gonna have to get that sorted. :P
It was a royal pain to get it up and running, and I'm afraid I wasted way too much time getting it to do so. I'm not well versed on Technic and mechanical builds, which is a shame because I really wanted to make it fully automated with my NXT.....maybe a project for the future. ;)
I want to thank Tom for being a fantastic sport and lobbying for me to be allowed to get this sorted....I'm STILL having major internet issues and the video stalled uploading over a dozen times with my phone! I'm so angry with my internet, phone company, and MOCpages (the hosting part), that I see some serious changes for me coming up in the future.
I'd also like to thank the judges for allowing me to continue with this post and hosting the MOC Olympics....it's a real pain to deal with so many personalities for so long!
