For years, the lawful rulers of Roawia tolerated the use of magic on islands isolated off of the eastern shores because the Lands were divided and we were on the brink of internal war. Now, with mutual treaties bringing the factions closer together, the King of Roawia has decided that it is time to finally cleanse the world of the vile and dangerous practics of sorcery! Together, we can rid our lands of their filth!
Join together, Lenfel, Garhim and Loreesi, and we will vanquish this evil once and for all!
They came at dawn, the sun's first light glinting on the tips of their spears, pennants snapping back and forth in the sweltering wind. Even at dawn, the Isle was incredibly hot and even more humid than mid-day.
Though Garheim's main force came by ship from the north of the Magic Isles and attacked the magic-wielders head-on, many factions of the Garhim sped further south so as to come up in surprise of the enemy and press them from two sides. War drums boomed, heralding their arrival, as the army of pikemen marched out of the canyon and the rangers crept silently to the tops of the sandstone cliffs.
Sir Cedric Archer had been the first of the reinforcements to reach the battle and was raining down a hail of arrows from his eyrie. "FOR GARHEIM!!!" he shouted, loosing another arrow. "THE USE OF MAGIC ENDS THIS DAY!!!"
The canyon opened onto a forested plain, though the crumbling ruins told of an ancient city long since decayed.
The island had once been part of the kingdom of Loreos, though now it was ruled by Outlaws; some were simply rogues and assassins but many wielded magics dark and terrible.
Necromancers summoned armies of the undead, singing spells that breathed unnatural life into bones meant to stay at rest.
Others wielded the elements at will, sending waves of flame, wind, and water at the Garhim. Many Garhims fell victim to the evil power of these mages.
But they were not immortal and the Garhim gave them cause for fear.
For the pikemen of Castle Moore were well trained and well armed, iron ring and plate from head to foot and seven feet of gruesome steel in hand.
Sir Layton Connors, former captain of the Pikemen of Moore was born to fight, the Garhims said, and he did little to prove them wrong. "They have no hearts but WE DO!!! FOR GARHEIM!!!"
Yet the day's battle was just beginning and the war was far from over...
