Why?
Formula X race car (70's style) . Formula X Race Car . Here are the picture of the final version of my 70's style Formula Race CAr. The goal was to come up with a rather “fast” car not just by the looks but also by real speed. Interestingly it accelerates like a real car from slow to full speed due to the weight of about 1050 grammes (including batteries). With 1 RC engine only it has to work to get this accelerated. I am not overly happy with the steering due to the fact that the weels are too loose on the hangers. Also the steering angle is slightly wrong, like an inverted Ackermann steering (so outside wheel turns more than inside). It features: - 1 RC-Motor for propulsion - 1 M-Motor for steering - 1 AAA battery box (for propulsion & steering) - 1 IR Receiver - 6 cylinder engine directly mounted to the 1st exit of the RC engine (nothing beats +900 RPM’s) - Steering wheel in cockpit working (linked to M-Motor) - Rear wheel drive - Differential in rear axle - Independent wheel suspension on rear axle - Steered and independent wheel suspension on front axle I hope to find the time to create the LDD instruction as well.
