(LCC) Fortifying the River. . A series of MOCs built for the 9th local challenge of the faction of Loreos in the Lands of Classic Castle roleplay. . Mark of Falworth returned from the Magic Isles with the infuriated Desert Prince, who promptly ordered his lords and vassals to fortify the province from any outside attack. Like many other Loreesi nobles, Mark traveled north to the border of Lenfald. Moving along the river that served as the dividing line between the nations, Mark and his companions found a small and overlooked bridge. One of the knights remarked, "We could destroy this bridge, but then our cavalry would have even fewer places to cross over. Yet if we leave it be, the Lenfels or Garhims could have a whole army over this bridge and into Loreos in a day. What shall we do?" Mark replied with a broad smile. "Change the bridge so that we may cross at any time yet prevent our neighbors from doing the same. " "But how shall we do that?" "I will show you, step by step." Mark of Falworth gathered the local idle peasants and set them to work on the fortifications for a small payment each, but he also hired professional stone masons to cut the rough stones to the correct shapes. A number of soldiers were stationed on the Lenfel side of the river should there be any attempt from outsiders to interfere with the project. All the men worked hard, and quickly the towers were rising... It was not long before the towers stood tall and proud over the fast-flowing river. Now none could cross the river at this point without the consent of the garrison. But an overly brave, (or overly foolish) band of Outlaws under the command of the notorious Boris the Bad-eyed had just completed a devastating raid in the south of Lenfald and now they were trying to force their way across into Loreos! The soldiers inside the gateway sent word to a nearby fort when they saw the nasty brigands approaching! And a large squadron of Loreesi swordsmen promptly came to scatter the rouges to the four winds! Who will win in this test of strength? :) All three sections can be seen on Flickr. A Humble Crossing. Towers Rising. A test of Strength. Thanks for viewing and have a great day! ;)
