Angel Dragon . Inspired by Japanese Anime and Manga Films . Built for the MocAthalon 2013 Team: Bricks for Breakfast Category: 22. Parody This! Imitate a form of pop culture past or present(music, film, literature, art) and give it your own twist. I have always loved the imagery of Japanese Anime and Manga Films/Comics. Human characters are often depicted with spiky or long flowing hair that often covers part of their face. Their bodies tend to be slim and long limbed. Robot (Gundam) characters have large angled shoulders and often have ‘wings’ and oversized weapons. Both types of characters are usually depicted in a dynamic or striking pose. This is my attempt to recreate some of my favourite characteristics from this form of art. I started the build by reversing the dragon’s head to recreate hair, this also set the colour scheme. As I was building it soon became apparent that it had similarities to an angel hence the name Angel Dragon. I finished the build off by positioning him in a classic Kung Fu pose - Reverse Panther and wielding two short 'liquid' swords in a reverse grip. I hope you like him. Hope you like him.
