Helm's Deep - Microscale . My contest entry for the eleventh two-week challenge in The Contest Group. The theme was LOTR Architecture. We were required to build a Microscale version of a building from the world of Middle-Earth. It also had to look as if it was a LEGO architecture set, meaning a black border and no illegal techniques. I chose to build Helm's Deep, as it is so far my favorite castle in Middle-Earth. I would have chosen Rivendell, but the buildings are so beautifully detailed, it is nearly impossible to build them in Microscale form. I am hoping the judges know every feature of the castle because will be mentioning them. . Aerial shot of the MOC. I tried to include a bunch of different features of the landscape. The trans blue rounds are supposed to be the stream that goes through the gutter in the wall. You can also see the back stairs, which on the MOC are the light grey slopes that go up from the grounds to the outer wall. You can also see part of the causeway. The grey 1 by 4 tiles on the headlight bricks are supposed to be battlements. It didn't work as well as I hoped, but it's good enough for me. I just wish the image quality here was better.
