LIU Super Tower - Moonbase District . The twenty-one story Super Tower is responsible for all the LIU's interests on the moonbase and the surrounding areas. It is also home to the LIU Universal Ambassador. . LIU Super Tower - Moonbase District Recently, the Ludgonian Industrial Union expanded their business into the moonbase sector with their five story LIU Business Tower. Impressed with the increased profits it brought, the LIU has expanded the tower to twenty-one stories. This building is now responsible for all LIU interests in the Moonbase Sector. The Super Tower is responsible for multiple aspects of the LIU's business and civil duties. Each of its floors is fully detailed (although some sparingly) and serves one of the LIU's needs. Fun Fact #1: The Super Tower is by far the tallest structure the LIU has ever built. And no, the LIU is not compensating for anything...(for all you jokers out there) The classic LIU sign still hangs on its north side, although a second sign was added to face the east. Fun Fact #2: The LIU did not want twenty super narrow pics on this page, so several of the pictures extend past the white background. Therefore, you are graced with some obscure pictures of the LIU's lego room.... Ah...a beautiful pic of the sun directly over the LIU Super Tower. The rays reflect off the tower's 500+ windows. Fun Fact #3: Its not really the sun.... Fun Fact #4: The Super Tower is one of the tallest structures on the moonbase, making it a favorite place for base jumpers and suicidal executives to take the plunge. Here's a pic for scale. The Super Tower dwarfs the massive LIU Dark Sun. See that black speck near the bottom? Thats a minifig. Fun Fact #5: The Super Tower is over four feet tall, which makes it taller than 22% of the people on this web site. The building's architecture is a reflection of most of the LIU's products....white and boxy. Here is a look at the airlock/connector. Fun Fact #6: The connector is 1/3 of a stud off from moonbase regulations. Whoops...too late to fix that now. Door closed... Door open.....and now we head into the main floor. Main Floor (1) The main floor of the Business Tower is the reception area. It contains a waiting area and the hot secretary's desk. It even has a nice plant in the corner.... The secretary sets appointments, controls access to the elevator, and has a small monitor to link with LIU security. Don't try to attack this building, the elevator locks down at the touch of a button. Fun Fact #7: The secretary is a trained special forces soldier, and she will kill you before you can apologize for not making an appointment. Three customers wait in the waiting area. Some are here for designs, some for loans, and some for business deals. Let's take the elevator(left) up to the second floor, the design center. Design Center (2) Do you need a product the LIU doesn't produce? Come to the design center and sit with one of our engineers. He'll listen to your needs and start designing a product right then and there. He'll then send the rough design to a LIU Factory, where the design will be finalized. Here, two members of the Galactic Circus, the Amazing Big Eye Man and the Bearded Lady, sit down with the engineer while he designs them their new Orbiting Circus Dome....Fun Fact #8: The LIU thought about actually making this, but then we stopped ingesting Space Spice. Now, back to the elevator. Time to visit the third floor, the Business Office. Business Office (3) The Business Office is where the LIU completes all it deals, such as signing contracts or agreements. Whether you completed a design the floor below or you want a established LIU product, you come here to barter your price. These tuxedo clad business men are some of the LIU's best. Here, these two Space Police Officers try to get a lower price on the four hundred LIU Police Gunships they need. Believe it or not, they'll walk away from this desk paying more than the original asking price. Business contracts are also completed here. This representative of Octan is here to extend its sponsorship of the LIU. Apparently, the LIU's SuperTanker has increased the Octan Corporation's profits ten fold. Fun Fact #9: The LIU is now 33% owner of the Octan Corporation. Note the flowers in the corner...how pretty! Actually, LIU experts have found customers will pay more when they see flowers in the room. Fun Fact #10: At least they think so... Let's head up again.... Banking and Payment Center (4) The Banking and Payment Center is nearly identical to the LIU Business Tower, but it was given better computers and a cage to protect the cashier. Have an outstanding loan or an item on layaway? Pay online or pay here at the Super Tower via this automatic payment machine. Just enter your order number and then insert your payment into the slot. If you fear machines, you can visit the teller. Note her new cage. The money from the automatic payments fall into these locked safes. Fun Fact #11: The Banking and Payment Center receives and pays out millions of credits a day. Cameras make sure the teller doesn't pay any of it out to herself. Once again, a view of the cashier and her new computer. She can issue loans and take payments quicker and easier. With so much money floating about, an armed guard is always present. Steal even a penny, and he will fill your body with lead. Fun Fact #12: We are not joking. Theft of any money, even a penny, is a capital offense in the LIU. Now, up we go... Grasshopper Airlines Moonbase HQ (5) Right when you get off the elevator, you see the Grasshopper Airlines' Logo. Get more info about Grasshooper Airlines (a LIU state run airline) at our LIU Titanus Transport's site. The airlines' mascot, Timmy the Cricket, meets a customer at the door. As soon as the annoying Timmy gets out of the way, the customer visits one of two customer service reps and orders tickets for the LIU Titanus Transport. Fun Fact #13: The LIU offers discounts on tickets if you come in personally. Up again... Accounting (6) Six men add and subtract receipt after receipt, managing the LIU's accounts on the Moonbase. Fun Fact #14: The LIU has trillions of credits flowing through this establishment alone. We are filthy stinking rich. No really, we are being modest. Up again... Conference Room (7) Rent out the Conference Room for a small fee. Fun Fact #15: LIU Major Economic Partners can use the room for free. (Refreshments not included) Up again... LIU TV2 Studio (8) The LIU's state run news program is run out of LIU Super Tower. Get your updates on LIU stocks, events, and problems on TV2. You can even get highlights from the latest brikball game at the new Donsdale Dome. They have one heck of a team this year. Fun Fact #16: Yes, there are tons of commercials for LIU products. The camera man's camera...yawn... Up we go again... Fugitive Recovery Moonbase District (9) The Ludgonian Industrial Union has strict penalties for breaking the law, and many criminals flee to avoid prosecution. To capture as many of these fugitives as possible, the LIU operates several Fugitive Recovery Teams. This team, based in the Super Tower, is responsible for apprehending all fugitives in the Moonbase District. This operative searches the database for fugitives in the area. The people he selects are brought up onto the digital bulletin board to his right. Fun Fact #17: The LIU is currently tracking over 4,000 fugitives. Approximately 2,500 of them are belived to be hiding in this district. This operative is on the video phone with one of the LIU's economic allies, The Taliarn Defense Council. The TDC once captured a fugitve that slipped through the LIU's grasp. They have been working closely together ever since. Another operative finishes up reports on captured fugitives and closes their cases. Fun Fact #18: The LIU catches 90% of its fugitives, 65% of which, are executed. Hmm....maybe these should be Sad Facts. Up again... Interrogation Room (10) Captured fugitives or enemies are brought to the Interrogation Room for questioning. The prisoner seen here, was the scientist in charge of the LIU's cybernetic line. Before he is sent to a LIU Orbital Prison, he is questioned on the whereabouts of some of his fellow scientists. There is plenty of muscle to inflict pain. Note the man watching from behind the one-way glass. He's the LIU Justice Governor. Up again... The Vault (11) There are two floors of the Super Tower that have no windows. The Vault is one of them. Even if you get clearance to get off the elevator, you still must pass this second locked door. Inside the vault there are blocks of currency, jewels, coins, and IOU's. Fun Fact #19: The LIU has also stored some of its unpublished designs inside, such as schematics for the LIU Sacred Light. Up Again...Fun Fact #20: The LIU is sick of writing "up again". Restroom (12) Every building this size needs a restroom. This uni-sex bathroom holds three stalls and two sinks. We hope no one is shy; the stalls' walls are a tad shorter then they should have been. Up Again... Atmospheric Guard (13) The Atmospheric Guard, known as the Coast Guard on water planets, is in charge of tracking all craft in the area of the Super Tower. No one should be too close, as it will be considered a breach of LIU space. Up again.... Medical Testing Facility (14) Even though the moon has its upper-class areas, there is still plenty of fodder wandering around. The LIU takes advantage of this by paying Moon Bums to test drugs on. The Medical Scientists straps this young, drug-addicted bum into a chair and prepares to inject him with LIUNervTox-4. Hopefully, he fares better than the last one, who is floating in a coma in a stasis cell. Up, Up, and Away.... Cartography Room (15) The LIU mantains a cartography unit at all of its installations across the universe. They help the LIU to find unclaimed planets or territories to fuel its ever expanding size. This installation discovered Ananthia, which is now home to a LIU Super-Farm. Weather research is also conducted here. Fun Fact #?: The LIU forgot what number they were on. Up aaaagain.... LIU Complaint Center (16) Six operators are on call 24 hrs a day to take your complaints. They can resolve issues with your orders or field complaints on product quality. Whoah...handless headsets. The LIU is high tech. Up we go! Super Tower Restaurant (17) Stop in and eat some Shark Tacos or Kaadu Sausage Pizza. Fun Fact #21?: A restaurant in the Tower is a good way to get some cash back from your employees! Up again... The Universal Ambassador's Reception Room (18) Here to see the LIU's Universal Ambassador? He's a busy man, so you'll have to wait in his reception room until he can see you. Enjoy his striped carpet and zebra prints. Help yourself to some drinks if you must. The secretary will open elevator access when he is available to see you. Up again... Office of the Universal Ambassador (19) The LIU's Universal Ambassador is in charge of forming and maintaining all of the LIU's alliances. He is also in charge of maintaining a positive image of the LIU and can be seen at many charitable events. He also enjoys attending a good brikball game with some of his alliance buddies, like First Class Faron Fleet Admiral J F, Karrth Sair, High General Marc Robertson, Chris Trosclair, Don Webber, and Jordan Beasley. The ambassador's desk... Today the Universal Ambassador meets with a representative of the Faron. The Faron Representative shows an act of good faith by dressing in typical LIU gear, the tuxedo. They pose together holding an agreement written by Emperor Ludgonious himself. The LIU, in an unprecedented move, has signed a contract to promise that no goods or military hardware will be sold to anyone the Faron designate as enemies. Up we go, one more time.... Observation Deck (20) The LIU, always looking for an easy buck, has turned its top floor into an observation deck. For a fee, tourists can view the Moonbase from 20 stories up. There's not a better view anywhere... Rent some binoculars or take some photos. Roof Ahhh, its pretty high up here. Various mechanical features of the building are located here, like the elevator's generator and the LIU Signs' brightness controls. When we started this project, we mentioned that there was twenty one floors, and we weren't counting the roof. So where's the other floor? Its the basement. After entering a code, the elevator goes all the way down. Moonbase Sector Cargo Tracking Servers (-1) If you have ever visited the LIU Cargo Tracking Unit's page, then you know that the Ludgonian Industrial Union operates a universe wide parcel tracking program called the Cargo Tracking System. The Business Tower houses one of the CTS's large servers. Its hidden in the basement. A Information Technology Engineer watches over the system's server. This substation is responsible for the six galaxies nearest to the moonbase sector. There is one radar for each galaxy. The IT Engineer makes sure this substation stays running. His partner stares at the CTS's cargo lists to insure that it is processing everything up to speed. Note: The Ludgonian Industrial Union wanted to include more of our allies in the Super Tower, but this took forever to load as it was. Perhaps some edits will be made later. Also, the Super Tower is at its safest maximim height, so additional floors can not be added without risking a full collapse.
