Elves for Helm's Deep . Haldir of Lórien and his warrior elves - for the Battle of the Hornburg . These minifigs will be the elves for my interpretation of Peter Jackson's Helm’s Deep Battle (which in turn is based on J. R. R. Tolkien's Battle of the Hornburg). Under the command of Haldir of Lórien, these fine elves will help protect the walls of Helm’s Deep from the orcs and goblins that will be storming the walls. As anyone familiar with minifig customization will know, the armour and weapons are from Brickforge , which has some of the best custom Lego weapons around. I am pondering whether or not these guys will be keeping their black capes, or I may make some silver-black capes out of some material my wife bought for me – time will tell. In addition, I am considering doubling their numbers depending on the final size of the walls. The faces on these will be changed as I have a bunch of Harry Potter light flesh heads waiting for Brasso and decals. I chose light flesh in order to differentiate them from the rest of the army. As far as the entire scene goes the approximate numbers will be: Bricks/plates/etc: 30,000+ Orcs/goblins: 1,500 Horses/riders: 200 Warriors: 500 Elves: 25(50) Main Characters: 6 Size: TBA (several square meters?) Estimated time of completion: Christmas ‘08 Time spent collecting components: 4-years (hardcore in the past 15-months) Cost: Unknown so please don’t ask Hope you enjoy, and I will keep everyone updated as the scene comes together. Please forgive the several ‘starred’ capes – they will be changed before the scene is done. In the meantime go check out Thomas Muskovich’s Helm’s Deep - it is the best dang one I have seen – I can only hope I do as good a job as he has. Bricklink www.leejones.ca
