Why?
Eggplant Wizard . Exploration in Photoshop Technique . This is my new character. Legos has finally given me a medium to learn photoshop. A lot of times I see photos on these webpages and wonder how did they do that? We'll I'm still wondering, but thought I'd share a bit of what I was up to. #1 The Original Photograph #2 First Step is to pull out the background using the magic lasso tool. #3 Next up is adding some lighting effects. This makes the lighting a bit more realistic. #4 With all that light shining, we need some shadows. The shadow is basically a copied layer of the minifig, which is then shrunked down, colored grey and gaussian blurred. # 5 The white background is boring, so I added a gradient. #5 The last step is to touch up the torch. The lighting got a bit dull in the process. Voila. To respond to review #2. The shadow should match the lighting. if you look at the staff, the light is coming in from an angle. The shadow isn't exactly in line with this light, so good call. I shoud've had it shifted slightly to the right. To respond to review #3. His feet are cutoff because I wasn't paying attention when making the cut and didn't want to redo it. Laziness.
