X-TIE Ugly Starfighter . . Believe it or not this cobbled-together starfighter is actually an official part of Star Wars. They appear in Ambush at Correllia, Assault at Selonia, Plattís Smugglerís Guide, and Crakenís Threat Douser; the last two being supplements to the official Star Wars Role Playing Game and the origin of the reference images. Like all uglies, X-TIEís are second-rate vehicles built from the scrapped parts of superior vessels by fringe or low budget organizations. These fighters were deployed by Correllian Security during the First Correllian Crisis shortly before the treaty with the Imperial Remnant. As you can probably tell, the X-TIE is composed of two standard TIE wings, a pair of T-65 X-wing engines and the accompanying fuselage armed with the characteristic proton torpedo tubes. My piece measures approximately 42 studs long from nose to engine nozzle. As always, excuse the poor craftsmanship and reference information; when one builds obscure ships, one tends to have to supply parts the pictures donít show. In this case I added the engines. Reference photos copied from Wookipedia.com. The cockpit cargo compartment.
