Castaway Treehouse . Like Swiss Family Robinson, only with more cursing. . It be nigh unto two and ten years since the Ol' Man was shipwrecked. He wouldn't want to be rescued now even if he could be. Especially after all the trouble o' trainin' his five monkeys! Built for the Castaway Contest over at ForbiddenCove.com The rock is built at an angle, along with the base of the tree. This is the Ol' Man's Island at high tide. The white netting is from the old soccer sets. The Ol' Man managed to salvage a portrait from the shipwreck that adds a bit of decor to his abode. His bed can be seen in the foreground. A lone cannon (seen at top) is now more of a decoration than anything. A better shot of the bed. The Ol' Man likes to sleep out under the stars. Though it can be moved inside if the weather gets bad. He named each of his five monkeys after well known pirates. This one is Kidd. He's the creative one, as can be seen by his sand castle. The monkey seen here taking the largest banana for herself is Read. She's a mischievious one. Avery, the one seen here running the water in the "kitchen", is the best mannered of the group. Somewhere, somehow Morgan here learned that feathers help the birds fly. So she thought she'd give it a try. She's the most daring or crazy. Finally, we have Drake here. The Ol' Man gave up keeping a lookout for ships long ago. But Drake likes to scan the horizon in the hopes of some day sailing away to far off adventures. The dinghy is used to collect water during each afternoon's rain shower that then runs down a series of hollowed out tree segments into the "kitchen".
