Blocktropolis . Once Shannon started it, we all have to follow at some point. You may notice that my city is less crowded than his Shannonia, this is a problem I will address soon. So with much thanks to Shannon Young, and without further ado, I present... BLOCKTROPOLIS! . Hello and welcome to my fair city, I am the mayor of Blocktropolis, and the rest of the cities' personnel and I make it our duty to help you have an enjoyable stay here. If you're like most people you'll want a tour of the city to start off with, so I'll hand you over to one of the bus drivers here.
Here we have the airport. It is of pretty basic design, it has a concourse, runways and taxiways for the planes, a parking garage, car rental, cafes and other small stores, the ever-so-important airport hotel, All that ever-so-necessary stuff at an airport.
A picture taken by a pilot of a flight from from Shannonia, the only other microcity I know that actually has an airport, taken on approach to land here.
The beach front, featuring the docks and seaside lodge, the last remaining building made out of wood in the entire town, and some beach shops.
The Oceanview Condominiums, 9 floors of paradise, great views of the beach and ocean, and also the cruise ship leaving port.
Speaking of the port, heres the cruise ship dock. Hold on, I am just now getting word that this is an idea our mayor had before the mayor of Shannonia did, ha ha, yes, and they said it wasn't possible.
And here we have the actual cruise ship at dock, you'd be lucky to get a spot on board, bacause on various weeks throught the year, the mayor will completely reserve the ship for his own purposes.
An overview of the north end of town, some buildings in the city are too small for my dumb carmera to take pictures of, so I'll have to write descriptions of them in overviehots like this. The red roofed building in the top left-hand corner is Pizza Palace, currently holding the record for deepest deep-dish pizza, order it ounce and you'll never see the bottom of the pan, or your feet, ever again. The blue building with the yellow skylights in between the two stadiums, is Mario DeSlugger's Sports Bar, Mario DeSlugger was the best baseball player ever to play on the Blocktropolis Blockheads, he led them to three LegoLand Series titles, and what do they do for him in return? Name a sports bar after him, ho hum.
Here is the football stadium, where every Sunday thousands of fans gather to watch the Brickheads play against whatever team is unfortunate enough to have to play there.
And here is the baseball dome, Where the Blockheads have lost every game thev've played since they traded Mario DeSlugger to Shannonia's team, hmmm... why does that sound so familiar?
Here is the train station, still with the historic "BEWARE OF INDIAN ATTACKS" sign hanging on the wall. People used to give no regard to this statement, but all that changed last month when a southbound commuter train was derailed and ransacked just outside city limits.
Moving on to Downtown, here we have the Imagination Inc. World Headquarters. Only the top few floors are actually used by the company, the rest of the buildings height was added for the sole purpose of making the building look impressive.
More buildings too small for the camera. The one with the red roof is the fire department, where the fire chief routinely coats the 3-story sliding pole with shortening to speed up arrival times. There are plenty of jobs open. The white building is the police station, a policeman's only duty is arresting people who own less than 200 lego bricks, or worse, one or more megablocks. The blue roofed building is the post office, where their motto is, "We'll get you your stuff, no matter how long we feel like taking."
A large black office building. It's getting harder and harder to write these funny captions, I'll have to come back here.
Some random office buildings.
More random office buildings.
A big blue glass building, as you can see, Blocktroplis is largely a working-class city, this is where people earn all the money they need to spend in Shannonia.
The dark grey building is the Blocktropolis National Bank building, where people keep said money.
The light grey one is another office building. The small red one is just some boring brick condominiums.
City Hall, Where the mayor sits all day and writes up different laws for the people of blocktropolis to follow, these laws change with his mood.
The railroad heaquarters, where people sit and moniter every train on the system all hours of the day.
Blocktropolis Public Library, two floors of wall-to-wall books, and a giant book-shaped roof! It's every nerd's dream!
the grey and red building, home to, not surprisingly, more offices.
Finnaly something exiting, this is The Hive, the city's preimiere hotel and hotspot. It also has the city's only casino in the basement.
The Space Night Club, food, drinks, dancing, music, what more could you want? Whatever you do though, don't look directly at the neon-green strobelights, they're worse than the sun.
Here's the general hospital. This is where you'll go after you take a look at those nonstop neon-green strobelights, don't say I didn't warn you.
Some more random small buildings, I wanted to fill all this space with intresting and cool-looking buildings, but I was on a schedule.
Moving to the east end of town, or "the other side of the tracks" as you may notice, we find Blocktropolis' large mall. Choc full of overpriced crap from Asia, what a shock.
The red building is another block of brick condominiums. The blue one behind the red one with the black antenna is the Blocktropolis TV station, it has a regular schedule: news programs at 9 am, 5 pm, and 8 pm, predictable and boring sitcoms and dramas daily, and repetitive cartoons every morning. The brown-roofed building is Pitt's Barbeque, but don't order the Barbeque special, all it is is a strand of barbed wire in the shape of a "Q". Get it, barby-Q? Ok, that was lame.
Blackbox Apartments, the cheapest accomidations in the entire city, and probobly a lot more cities as well.
'Cause you knew I would stick some more in there before the end, more office and buisness buildings.
A symbol of ongoing construction in the city, the tall crane is busy constucting more buildings in a vacant area.
And before you leave, why not take a lovley stroll down Main Street? You know you want to!
