red truck . this is my fairly newest MOC :o)
it took me several weeks of designing and recreating to get this result.
and not counted wheel steering, it has the same functions as my bigger truck - Praga V3S :c) . hi there! here is my newest MOC. a red truck. at first i thought about something like tatra 148, but it didn't work as i thought - all the problem is in side door - they are divided into two parts - the lower goes straight to dashers, but the upper part narrows to hood. this is it, why i wasn't able t do both - truck for two minifigs and truck looking like tatra 148. so i decided to make another truck in oldtimer style - it could be some old american truck, but it's just a truck and doesn't represent any real vehicle.
then i got rainbowish dirty version which was a bit crippy - i made it a wheel suspension and while trying it, it brokes out :-D
i was almost sure it will be a red truck, but i used some pieces, what i don't have in red, so i had to redesign the hood and front part. this version has one stud shorter fron than the dirty version.
the second problem, i had to solve, were dashers. they were uselessly large. but only one way, how to put wheels there, was using of 2*1 flat pieces with one stud. this completely changed the chassis and i had to redesign it another way.
but using these 2*1 pieces suprisingly made seating of minifigs impossible. they need 1/2 stud longer space for legs(!)
so i had to make additional changes on the chassis and they even wasn't as difficult as i thought.
and then i had to redesign interior because of the changes... :-D
during all these canges i had to redesign the engine many times and this version has completely different engine than the dirty version, but i think it's still nice, though i stil thought i could use the old engine :-D.
another problem was i wanted to make a 7 studs wide truck and i got this effect with adding 2*1 flat bricks with one stud as dashers. but i had to redesign the frontal part again because of it. (O_o)
the last changes were done on the chassis and interior, but they were almost cosmetical.
oh... and about the functions: opening door and hood, steering and handle in interior, seats for two minifigs, moving dump body and single wheel suspension (all 6 wheels)
