"Cutlass" Mercenary Clipper . A heavily modified mercenary freighter. . Welcome! Thanks for looking at my creation! Anyway... The "Cutlass" is a heavily modified freighter, customised to suit the needs of it's mercenary owners. Modifications include a heavy laser on the topside, normally found only on larger cruisers, as well as two smaller laser batteries on each side of the hull. Other changes include upgraded engines and sensors. Here's the side on view. It's my longest moc so far, at 60 studs long. (Sorry about the background. It's hard to photograph big things...) An upper 3/4 view, with a nice view of the sensors. An interesting story about the bridge: I was just fiddling with those train roof pieces, wondering what on earth they could be used for, and presto! put them together, and I had a cool looking bridge! It was a good challenge though, figuring out how to reverse them. (I haven't perfected all these tricky SNOT techniques yet :)) The top view, showing the nice V pattern at the front. The front view. A 3/4 close up of the bridge and right engine. Ah, here we have a 'reasonable' view of the engine greebling. It's more detailed than the photo reveals. I'm quite proud of the way it turned out, even if the tubing isn't 'exactly' to scale! I must say, this greebling stuff is harder than it looks! My favourite part of the ship, the heavy laser cannon! The way it's so oversized compared to the rest of the ship just adds character, in my opinion! (No one but mercenaries would consider putting one of these on a ship this size!) It can rotate 360 degrees, and has some up and down freedom as well. In this picture you can also see one of the smaller laser batteries on the side, which also have 2 degrees of freedom. Bottom view. Important note: That grey area in the middle with the black 2x6 plate actually isn't supposed to be visible! I forgot to cover it with another red plate before I took photos of it. Arrgh... So please, try to ignore it! Thanks. A back view of the 3 engines, looking from below. In hindsight, I still would like to change the engines from being wheels, to, something... more complex, but couldn't think of anything at the time. A passing shot... So there we go, another creation uploaded onto MOCpages! I hope you enjoyed looking at it, I certainly enjoyed making it! See ya
