LEMMING Unit #001: "Basher" . A complex hardsuit built for bashing. . Well, I got invited into "Hardsuits Unite" for my Samus figures, which I barely considered hardsuits, so I thought I'd earn my place in the group by making my first real hardsuit. It is without doubt the coolest thing I have ever built with LEGOs. This is the "Basher", a model of LEMMING unit, which is a line of specialized hardsuits. This one's specialty is bashing things, obviously. Maybe I'll make some different LEMMING units in the future... Here are a couple close-ups of the feet. The first picture is of the front, and the second is of the back. The back of the unit. I really like the shape and sense of real power here. Another shot of the back. The boosters don't allow the suit to fly, but it helps it run faster. Under the head you can see the core of the unit, the piece that I started with- a helmet. The helmet is connected to the rest of the suit in five places: the stud on the back, the inside of the helmet, the stud on the front, and the two tiny holes on top that are normally used for feathers and such. If you look closely, you can see how everything is interconnected. It's really rather ridiculous in its complexity. You'll notice that I have the Basher on a stand. I'd like to clarify that in can stand on its own quite well, but if it WERE to fall over and break, the complexity would make it an ENORMOUS pain to repair. I'm not taking any chances.
